Overeaters
Get Control
I’m so tired of people saying they want to look better, eat better, that they are, “going to do it!”, diet, exercise etc.
These people, first of all, are dumb and don’t get it, in denial, don’t have the discipline, motivation, willingness to do it, or they are just ignorant.
They have lived their life, they were healthy at one point but that’s it, they are done. They don’t have to be healthy anymore. Crazy right? What?! I don’t get it either. Read on.
Second of all, many people who really do need to lose weight or be more healthy need to not do that. Saying it to themselves isn’t going to do it.
They need to wake up one day and just start doing it and being consistent with it. Incorporating it into their daily routine. Easier said than done, of course.
When a person SAYS they are going to do it, they are just lying and hurting themselves because it’s negative reinforcement and self-fulfilling prophecy in one. Because they feel good about knowing that they’re thinking about doing something positive and making only THAT verbal effort.
Then that’s it, it stops there and they don’t proceed any further. It’s really sad and depressing.
Yet, if they had someone kicking them in the butt by motivating them and encouraging them they MIGHT do it or not.
Again, with this type of person they are usually already unhappy and don’t want someone looking at them and telling them what they have to do because they already know or at least they think they do.
So really, there is no winning with this type of person unless and even then maybe not, but unless you gave them a million dollars and a life altering threatening or perhaps real “you are going to die if you don’t do this” speech, they won’t help themselves.
Therefore, you probably know or have figured out that I am referring to (not that it matters because it’s half of the world) someone I care for and how I came upon this psychological evaluation. Yes, we’ve spoken of this before but it seems to never get tiring because as we all know, it’s easier [access] to talk about negative news and it seems to be abundant. Also, since this is a down/negative write-up, why not stick to the topic, right?. The next write will be positive, uplifting, inspirational etc. As such, here I go on saying what needs to be said by me and YOU being the friend who listens, reads, and says whatever you want at the end.
It always happens when a big event is happening. Here are the scenarios and lines, “Oh, I’m going on vacation, I need to lose weight so I’m going to start eating better.”
“Oh, that was fun and a good time we had. I really think I need to start eating better and walking everyday.”
“My goodness, we did a lot of walking, I was fine but I think I need to take some weight off. If I do that everyday, I’ll be healthier, thinner, and feel better in no time.”
“Now that we’re/I’m back from eating so lavishly, I need to start walking and proportion better for my meals.”
“My goal is to lose X amount of weight before we leave for X place. I’m starting tomorrow.”
“Ya know, it’s about proportion sizing and if I eat smaller meals with different variety it would be better. So after I eat this(high fat, carb, starch, sugar), I’ll start my diet tomorrow.”
It’s also great to visually see it happening. The person who just said they are going to do this positive healthier thing for themselves and they are going for the cookies, brownies, cakes, bread, pasta, pizza or whatever and having huge globs oversize proportions of it. I mean, yes, if your work schedule is messed up and all cooky, then you are bound to eat worse. I’m not saying that we all don’t indulge and eat “bad” from time to time because I’m definitely one of them but on a regular basis, how does one consume like that? Therefore, we have unconscious emotional eating from the unhappiness and depression.
So there you have it folks, uncontrollable overeating.
